Areas of Practice

JUVENILE dependency LAw

If there are allegations that a child has been abused, abandoned or neglected, we are here to help.  This includes representing a parent, grandparent, or any relative when children have been removed from the care of their families by the Department of Children and Families (“DCF”).  We will defend and advocate for you in court to have your child returned to your care or the care of a designated family member.

private petitioner

Unfortunately, there will be times DCF will decline to become involved in matters when children are harmed from abuse, abandonment or neglect.  If you believe a child needs to be protected, there are laws in state of Florida allowing “any person with knonwledge of the facts” to file their own petition to protect a child.  You can protect a child by filing a private petition for dependency, termination of parental rights, Chapter 39 injunctions, or a private petition for adjudication and commitment when parents are deceased.

reinstatement of parental rights

People can change for the better. If your parental rights were terminated by DCF in the past, but now, you have transformed, and are prepared and able to raise your child in a healthy environment, while providing a safe, and stable home, then contact ONE Community Law Group, PLLC to file a petition for reinstatement of your parental rights that will start you on the path to reunification. Time is of the essence, so contact us today.

estate planning

Estate planning is essential for young families, retirees, domestic partnerships, and unmarried individuals to ensure their wishes are honored and their loved ones are protected. For young families, thoughtful planning includes naming guardians for children and establishing trusts to manage their inheritance. Retired individuals should consider strategies that address healthcare decisions and the distribution of assets to avoid probate complications. Domestic partnerships can benefit from outlining their intentions regarding asset division and rights, while unmarried individuals must be proactive in designating beneficiaries and ensuring their assets are transferred according to their preferences. Comprehensive estate planning provides peace of mind, regardless of one's relationship status or life stage.

FAMILY LAW

Inevitably, all families will need help in court whether the matter is big or small. If you find yourself at a point that you need representation in court for matters in family law court such as: modification of final judgments, divorce, child custody by parents or relatives, child support, paternity, and name change, contact us so we can listen to and understand the needs of you and your family in order to get you the results you want.  We can provide affordable flat fees to accomodate your budget.

CHILDREN’s RIGHTS

If your child was removed from your care by DCF, and your child has endured abuse, neglect, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse while in the care of the state while they were placed in: emergency shelter, foster home, group home, hospital, or residential treatment facilty; or injured or harmed by a state employee or a worker contracted to perform work with the state, call us, we believe you. We will fiercely advocate for compensation for the child and the family for the harm they have endured.  You  must act fast if something has happened becsause there are laws that  limit the time you have to go to court.

No matter how it comes together, when it does, family is what you fight for, family is what your protect.
